Sample some of the best wine in the country during a Sonoma County Wine Tasting Tour!
When talking about world-renowned California wines, Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley get mentioned in the same breath. International award-winning wine gets produced in these regions due to the complex soils, climate, and sea breezes. That’s why a Sonoma County Wine Tasting Tour is one of the most popular things to do near San Francisco!
Head north and cross the Golden Gate Bridge on your way to 4 exclusive tastings at some of the finest Sonoma County wineries. First, take a cellar tour at an Alexander Valley winery! Sit back and relax as your first sip of wine hits your lips. You’ll learn about sustainable farming, proper storage methods, and why Sonoma is tops when it comes to California wine!
Next, at a Dry Creek vineyard, you’ll enjoy a 5-wine flight inside a wine cave. You’ll meet the winemaker, learn about why this location was chosen, and sit beneath some of the oldest Zinfandel vines in the country! Then, you’re off to a quaint, little Russian River Valley winery, where you’ll sit at tables made of wine barrels and soak up the magnificent scenery. Taste the Pinot Noir, Syrah, or Cabernet Franc varietals here!
Finally, there’s the Petaluma Gap winery! Known for its Chardonnay, you’ll enjoy your final tasting inside the cellars of this picturesque winery. Learn about the gravity flow methods employed here and what it means to run a “family first” winery.
At the end of the tour, you can even take photos in front of the Golden Gate Bridge, which is why the Sonoma County Wine Tasting Tour is what to do near San Francisco!
